Glenn Howden

Glenn Howden’s choice to become an Auto Electrician was fuelled by a passion for car audio, and Auto Electrical was the next stepping stone. He has been at AJ Auto Electrical since February 2012, and completed an adult apprenticeship there.

Glenn says that the best thing about being an Auto Electrician is that no 2 days are the same, there are always different issues and variety is the spice of life!

Glenn is married to Ismay, and they have 3 children. The family enjoys getting away for holidays, especially at Christmas time, when they go camping on a farm with their caravan and family.

He is passionate about car audio, motorsport, 4WDing, hunting, family and everything about the outdoors. He has been involved in Rallying in the deep south, in both an official role and as a competitor. Born and bred in Invercargill means he loves this place, and home is where the heart is. Where else can you get a better variety so close to your backdoor?

Glenn has a background in sales, and worked as both a counter hopper and a sales rep in the Electrical Industry for Invercargill based Electrical Wholesale firms. He enjoyed the work, but felt that a trade would suit him better for both now and in the future.

Glenn says he’s ecstatic to be involved in the business, and hopes that he can pass on his enthusiasm for the job with the next lot of future tradespeople coming through the business.
