John Lyons

John Lyons is one of the founding partners of AJ Auto Electrical: he’s the ‘J’ in the ‘AJ’.

At the end of 2017, John stepped back from being an Owner/Director of the business so that he could, in the future, carve out more time to pursue his interests such as restoring old cars, travel, and spending time with his family.

John remains at AJ Auto Electrical as a Manager, and is still very active in the day to day running of the business.

John has had a long association with Oreti Park Speedway, where AJ Auto Electrical is a sponsor. He’s a past president of the Speedway and now enjoys getting out to watch.

John has also had many years of involvement with the Waikiwi Rugby Club, alongside Alf McPhee. John is an ex-player, and was schoolboy convener for five years.

John’s wife Maree was a big part of AJ Auto Electrical for many years and has now retired to spend time with their grandchildren and follow her own pursuits.

In their spare time, John and Maree enjoy travelling and spending time with family.
